Polymers are divided into two categories: semi-crystalline and amorphous. Chains of semi-crystalline polymers form crystals in the state of phase change from melt to solid, which has a positive effect on the properties of the polymer. If the dimensions of the core of the formed crystals are larger than the wavelength of visible light, a polymer like PP becomes opaque while diffusing light. This phenomenon is considered a negative factor in some applications. Corbi polymer clarifying masterbatches contain additives that disperse in the polymer melt and form smaller but more nuclei when it cools. For this reason, with better light passing through the polymer, the final product becomes more transparent. Also, by increasing the nucleation speed and then accelerating the crystallization, it reduces the cooling time of the part in the injection mold and increases the production speed.
This product is used to increase transparency in packaging films and disposable containers, and as its name suggests, it causes the loss of turbidity and flaking of the product. Also, this product can be used to create strength and hardness and improve performance.
